Capilano University welcomes new and returning students for the third annual Capilano University Street Party (CUSP) on September 6. From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., new students will be attending Orientation, followed by the street party.

This year, the Capilano University Street Party and Orientation are using a mobile app, CrowdCompass, to help further engage students and provide easy access to all the new and important information. Students can create an account with their Capilano U emails, with confirmation codes being emailed within the hour. This will allow full customization of their personal accounts on the app and access to sharing social media posts.

Provided by powerhouse event tech company Cvent, the Cap U Street Party app is fully customizable and allows push notifications, vendor pages and email notifications. Helping the university towards being more environmentally responsible by eliminating printed paper, the app is populated with schedules, maps and information on events that are happening throughout the day. The easily-accessible bank of information not only pertains to the details of CUSP, but also other university services.

The campus-wide scavenger hunt is built into the app and can push out live notifications. Students are able to post to their personal social media through the app, as well as access all the informational content that is uploaded. The University will also have the app for 2017, allowing students to stay engaged in campus and community life.

The Cap U Street Party app is now live in the Apple app store and Google Play stores—make sure to download it before CUSP so you don’t miss out on the fun!

Don’t forget to volunteer for CUSP 2016!
