When the Capilano University Business Alumni Chapter meets for its first fall reunion on Thursday, November 5, members are in for a treat. Jordan Kallman, the charismatic founder of the boutique event marketing agency Social Concierge and President of TEDx Vancouver, will give the keynote address.

Jordan’s LinkedIn profile suggests he’s been known to throw a great party, an understatement to say the least. Since graduating from Capilano University’s Bachelor of Tourism Management program, the entrepreneur has managed events for the Olympic Village Plaza at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, consulted on the direction of Village Plaza events at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games and brought to Vancouver, Diner en Blanc, an elegant event where guests dressed in white meet at a secret location for a grand dining experience.

Jordan will speak about his entrepreneurial aspirations and his passion for creating first class events. The grads behind Cap’s newly created Business Alumni Chapter hope that the reunion becomes an annual event and intend to offer ongoing programs of interest to Cap’s growing pool of business alumni.  All Capilano U business and tourism graduates are invited to attend the event which will take place at The Permanent, the recently refurbished Bank of Canada building where bankers once conducted business in oak-paneled boardrooms.  The event begins at 7 p.m. and the $15 ticket price includes a drink and sumptuous hors d’oeuvres. Alumni can register at www.capuba.ca

The CU Alumni Association (CUAA) is taking advantage of a captive audience of alumni at the business gathering and is holding its seventh annual AGM in an upstairs room at The Permanent. The AGM will be preceded at 6 p.m. by a complimentary wine and appetizer reception with the brief AGM starting at 6:30 p.m. Alumni will have an opportunity to meet with members of the board of the CUAA and mingle with former classmates. Guests can then segue into the business networking event afterwards. All Capilano alumni are welcome to attend the AGM. Register online.
